Philip Maier ’12 co-authored a paper in the June, 2012, issue of the journal Civil Wars, published through the University of Birmingham. The forthcoming journal is a special issue – “Assessing the Capabilities of Regional and International Organizations in Civil Wars” – that examines the ability of various organizations to deal with internal conflicts, such as the African Union in Burundi and NATO in Afghanistan.  More ...

Washington Program Attends Oral Argument at Supreme Court

On April 18, students in the Program in Washington were in the Supreme Court to hear oral argument in the case of Salazar v. Ramah Navajo Chapters, et al., which arose out of a dispute about federal payments for services contracted out to Indian tribes. The case raises important constitutional questions about congressional spending power.  More ...
