Stephen Okin '10 Awarded Fulbright Grant
Stephen Okin '10, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to Barbados. He will pursue a master’s degree in integration studies at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus in Barbados. Through his project Okin seeks to understand the role regional cooperation plays in the eastern Caribbean, which faces unique challenges due to its history, geography and limited resources. Specifically he’ll focus on security cooperation by volunteering at a regional security organization. More ...

Corinne Bancroft '10 gave a paper titled “A Story We Tell to Ourself: The Rhetoric of Border Narratives” at the International Conference on Narrative in Cleveland on April 8-11. This was the 25th anniversary of the conference and there were more than 300 papers presented by scholars from around the world. Nathan Fedrizzi '10 Receives Bristol Fellowship
Nathan Fedrizzi ’10 has been awarded the College’s prestigious Bristol Fellowship. The Bristol Fellowship was begun in 1996 as part of a gift to Hamilton College by William M. Bristol Jr., (Class of 1917). The purpose of the fellowship is to perpetuate Mr. Bristol’s spirit and share it with students of the College that was such an important part of his life. Created by his family, the fellowship is designed to encourage Hamilton students to experience the richness of the world by living outside the United States for one year and studying an area of great personal interest. Two Hamilton seniors, Phillip Milner and Tom Morrell, have been awarded National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships. Milner is a chemistry/math double major who will be starting a Ph.D. program in chemistry in the fall, at an institution yet to be determined. Lydia Rono ’11 Awarded Davis Peace Project Fellowship for School Building Project in Kenya
Lydia Rono ’11 has been awarded a Davis Peace Project Fellowship program grant of $10,000. Through her project, titled Education for Peace, she hopes to build one secondary school classroom and one rest room in Barekeiwo Village in Kenya, thus qualifying Barekeiwo High School for Kenyan government educational funding.
