Jimmy Alexis '13 and the rest of the men's indoor track and field team host an invitational at Hamilton College's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday, Feb. 9. Jimmy has been a member of both the indoor and outdoor teams since his freshman year. On Feb. 2 at the SUNY Brockport Invitational, Jimmy nearly broke the school-record height in the pole vault, and qualified for the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championships, which will be held in New York City on March 1 and 2. He earned a spot on the New York State Collegiate Track Conference all-conference team for finishing in the top three of the pole vault at the 2011 championship meet.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Harry Keeshan '13

Harry Keeshan '13 (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) will help lead the Hamilton College men's squash team this weekend at the 2013 NESCAC Championship, which will be held at Trinity College from Feb. 1 through Feb. 3. Harry, who just played his final home match at the Little Squash Center on Wednesday, has won 27 matches in his Hamilton career. He was named to the 2010-11 NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team. The Continentals -- seeded eighth for the NESCAC championship -- take on No. 9 seed Colby College in the first round on Friday at 7 p.m.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Emily Heckman '13

Emily Heckman '13 (Chester Springs, Pa./Conestoga HS) and the women's indoor track and field team host an invitational at Hamilton College's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday, Jan. 26. Emily has been a team captain for the cross country and indoor track and field programs, and she also competes during the outdoor season. She has earned four NESCAC all-academic team honors and has enjoyed a great deal of athletic success in indoor track. Emily earned New York State Collegiate Track Conference all-conference honors for exceptional performance for the 4x800 relay in 2011 and 2012, and was all-conference for finishing in the top eight in the same event at the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championships.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Becca Hazlett '13

Becca Hazlett '13 (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. /Taft School) has been a four-year starter in goal on the women's ice hockey team and ranks second in program history with more than 1,800 career saves. Becca made an impact right away as she was voted the 2009-10 NESCAC Rookie of the Year and made the all-conference second team. She holds the team record for best save percentage in a season, and will be a three-time NESCAC winter all-academic team honoree. Becca and the Continentals are in the midst of their best season in history with a 9-3-0 overall record. This weekend they host Trinity College for two conference games at Russell Sage Rink on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18 and 19. Friday night's game starts at 7 and the teams return to the ice on Saturday at 3 p.m.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Hans Schulte '13

Hans Schulte '13 is in the midst of his second season as a starting guard on the men's basketball team. Hans has been part of a program that made the postseason in each of the past two years, including the 2011 Liberty League championship game. One of the team's captains, Hans will help lead the Continentals into their first home NESCAC weekend of 2012-13. Hamilton hosts nationally ranked No. 21 Amherst College on Friday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m., and takes on Trinity College on Sunday, January 13, at 2.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Cam Gibbar '13

Cam Gibbar '13 has made more than 300 saves in three-plus seasons in goal for the men's ice hockey team. Cam is a three-year letter winner and two-time member of the NESCAC winter all-academic team. He was a sophomore when the Continentals won 14 games and captured the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC championship for the first time in 2010-11. Cam and his teammates host a pair of NESCAC games this weekend. Colby College visits Russell Sage Rink on Friday, Jan. 4, and nationally ranked No. 6 Bowdoin College comes to campus on Saturday, Jan. 5.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Kim Goidell '13

Kim Goidell '13 is a team captain and three-year letter winner on the women's basketball team. Kim and her teammates go for their fourth straight win on Saturday, Dec. 8, when they host Alfred University for a non-conference game at 2 p.m. Last season as a junior, she led the NESCAC with 35 minutes played per game, and made the NESCAC winter all-academic team. Kim entered the week tied for sixth in the conference in steals per game and ranks second on the team in assists.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Taylor Hogenkamp '13

Taylor Hogenkamp '13 leads the men's swimming and diving team into the Hamilton Invitational against Trinity College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute this weekend. The third and final session of the meet starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. Taylor is a two-time team captain and made the NESCAC all-conference team as a part of Hamilton's 800-yard freestyle relay his freshman and sophomore seasons. He is the team's top sprint freestyle swimmer, and holds a dual major in mathematics and economics.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Amanda Thorman '13

Amanda Thorman '13 leads the Hamilton College women's squash team into their 2012-13 opener against Williams College on Friday, Nov. 16, which happens to be at Hamilton's Little Squash Center. Amanda is a two-time member of the NESCAC all-conference and winter all-academic teams, and last season was the No. 1 player for the Continentals. Not only does she excel in squash and in the classroom, but earlier this week Amanda and some classmates competed in an economic theories competition against college students from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. She even has a job lined up shortly after graduation in May.  More ...

Student-athlete profile: Gabe Klein '13

Gabe Klein '13 has a lot on his plate in his final year at Hamilton College. Not only will Gabe play for the baseball team in the spring, but he is the 2012-13 President of Hamilton's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Gabe, who transferred from Connecticut's Fairfield University after his freshman year, enjoyed a breakout season on the baseball diamond in 2012. He made the NESCAC all-conference team and the D3baseball.com New England Region all-region team after he led the conference in on-base percentage and set a team record for walks in a season with 26.  More ...
