Six Prizes Awarded in Public Speaking Competition

Six prizes were awarded in three categories in the annual Public Speaking Competition on Saturday, March 8, in the Chapel. The finalists were chosen after an open preliminary round held in February. Speakers’ presentations were either persuasive or informative in nature, and in one category students were asked to address an assigned topic.  More ...

Hispanic Studies Students Teach Spanish at Clinton Elementary

Thirty-five Hamilton students are teaching Spanish to third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students at Clinton Elementary. They volunteer in groups and work closely with the Clinton students to help them improve their language skills and gain an appreciation for foreign languages. Hispanic Studies Teaching Fellow Maria Gabriela Portal and Elisabeth MacColl ’16 run the program, which will continue throughout the semester.  More ...

Spring Dance Concert is March 7 and 8

Hamilton’s Department of Dance and Movement Studies will present its annual Spring Dance Concert on Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and Performing Arts. The performance will feature Hamilton student dancers and choreography by Hamilton faculty Elaine Heekin, Sandra Stanton, Bruce Walczyk and Paris Wilcox ’95 in addition to guest choreographer Matthew Powell.  More ...

Hamilton Turns Out for Heart Run and Walk

Nearly 100 members of the Hamilton community took part in the annual America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk on March 1 at Utica College. The event drew more than 6,400 participants and raised more than $1 million for heart education and research. This is the 17th consecutive year that Utica College has hosted the event.  More ...

Ten Hamilton students designed outfits to compete in the second annual Trashion Show, organized by the Recycling Task Force, on March 2.  They pieced together garbage and recyclable items for their models to sport on the runway in front of the judges, four members of the Task Force.  More ...
