MERCURY Attracts Researchers Across the U.S.
The Ninth Annual National MERCURY Conference on Computational Chemistry, devoted solely to undergraduates who are working on research projects in computational chemistry, was held at Hamilton from Aug. 1 through Aug. 3. The program offered an opportunity for undergraduates to learn about the breadth of research in computational chemistry, particularly in interdisciplinary topics and to discuss their work with other undergraduate computational chemists as well as some leaders in the field. Van Wynsberghe Awarded Supercomputing Grant
Assistant Professor of Chemistry Adam Van Wynsberghe was awarded an allocation of supercomputing time on the Texas Advanced Computing Center at the University of Texas in Austin. It's a grant that allows him and the students in his group to access this very powerful resource -- it will help them to carry out their simulations at a much faster rate than they could with the current on-campus resources.
