Three Faculty Members Receive Teaching Awards at Class & Charter Day

Hamilton College's highest awards for teaching were presented on Friday to three faculty members from the philosophy and government departments. They were honored during the college‚Äôs Class & Charter Day celebration on May 7, an annual convocation recognizing student and faculty excellence during the preceding academic year.  

Professor of Philosophy Robert Simon was awarded the Samuel & Helen Lang Prize for Excellence in Teaching; Assistant Professor of Philosophy Marianne Janack received the John R. Hatch Excellence in Teaching Award; and Assistant Professor of Government Rob Martin was awarded The Class of 1963 Excellence in Teaching Award.  More ...

Faculty Awards at Class and Charter Day

Hamilton College’s highest awards for teaching were presented on May 4 to two professors of archaeology, an assistant professor of theatre and dance, and an assistant professor of psychology. Charlotte Beck and Tom Jones, the Leonard C. Ferguson Professors of Archaeology, won “The Samuel and Helen Lang Prize for Excellence in Teaching;” Mark Cryer, assistant professor of theatre and dance, was named the recipient of “The John R. Hatch Class of 1925 Excellence in Teaching Award;” and Julie Dunsmore, assistant professor of psychology, received “The Class of 1963 Excellence in Teaching Award.”  More ...
