Students in Asian Temples in a Virtual World Class Visit D.C. Museums

Six students in Thomas Wilson’s seminar, Asian Temples in a Virtual World, travelled to Washington, D.C., from March 8-12 to visit museums in conjunction with their research projects. The trip featured a private viewing of 16 artifacts in the Smithsonian’s Freer and Sackler collections.

Wilson Re-elected Co-Chair of Confucian Traditions Group

Professor of History Thomas Wilson was re-elected co-chair of the Confucian Traditions Group of the American Academy of Religions. He was nominated to run at the annual meeting in San Francisco in November. The election was conducted by email last week.

Wilson Leads Session on Confucius

Professor of History Thomas Wilson led a seminar session on the “Cult of Confucius” on Oct. 15 at the School of Education at Union Graduate College. Wilson participated on behalf of the Freeman Foundation-funded National Consortium for Teaching about Asia, a grant managed by the Five College Center for Teaching about Asia located at Smith College.
