An article by Edmund A. LeFevre Professor of English Patricia O’Neill on Bollywood titled “Imagining Global India: Bollywood’s Transnational Appeal,” has just been published by Continuum: A Journal of Media and Cultural Studies (Vol 27. No. 2).

Peggy Piesche, visiting instructor of German and Russian studies, discussed her work on Christoph Martin Wieland on March 1 at a colloquium of the Institute for German Cultural Studies at Cornell University.

Professor of Mathematics Debra Boutin published a research article titled “The Cost of 2-Distinguishing Cartesian Powers” in the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics.

Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies Joana Sabadell-Nieto delivered an invited lecture on April 2 at the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at Syracuse University.

Barbara Gold, Edward North Professor of Classics, presented a paper on March 24 during the Women as Classical Scholars Conference at King’s College in London.

Cheryl Morgan, associate professor of French, delivered a paper on March 22 for a Journée d’études at the Universté Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3 in Bordeaux, France.

A paper co-authored by Assistant Professor of Economics Emily Conover was recently published in the journal Economic Development and Cultural Change. The paper “Effects of Subsidized Health Insurance on Newborn Health in a Developing Country” estimates the effect of a rapid and considerable expansion of health insurance coverage in the 1990s in Colombia on newborn health.

Professor of History Thomas Wilson received a Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies from the Center for Chinese Studies at the National Central Library, Taiwan.
