COOP, Physical Plant Team Up for Easter Ham Fundraiser

March 20, 2013 

The Community Outreach and Opportunity Project (COOP) is teaming up with Hamilton’s Physical Plant staff and Greek Philanthropy Union to provide 125 hams for Country Pantry, Clark Mills’ soup kitchen. The hams will feed 165 families on Easter.

COOP Senior Fellows Manage Philanthropic Events On- and Off-Campus

Look at campus e-mail on any given day during Hamilton’s academic year and chances are there’s a service opportunity seeking volunteers. The people behind these numerous events are the Community Outreach and Opportunities Program (COOP) Senior Fellows – Danielle Lashley, Ramya Ramnath and Amy Soenksen. They coordinate volunteer requests with local non-profits, plan events and organize volunteers.

Hamilton Students STOP to Say "Thank You"

February 24, 2012 

On athletic practice fields and team buses and in the Kirner-Johnson atrium, large groups of students joined in writing thank you postcards to donors throughout S.T.O.P. Day. The celebration of “Starting Today Others Pay” Day began with a presentation by Vice President of Administration and Finance Karen Leach, ended with remarks by alumnus John Werner ’92 and resulted in more than 2,000 thank you cards penned by students to donors.

Hamilton Receives Largest Gift in Its History

$16 Million Directed to Scholarships, Faculty Research and Arts Facilities

July 27, 2011 

Hamilton has received notification from the SunUp Foundation of a $16 million donation, the single most generous act of philanthropy in the college’s history. Edward ’46 and Virginia Taylor, directors for the foundation, recently informed the college of the commitment, which will establish Hamilton’s largest financial aid endowment and provide support for faculty research in the sciences and new arts facilities.
