Hamilton College's Pumla Sathula '08 scored 24 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Continentals to a 78-58 win against Cazenovia College at Scott Field House on Dec. 2.
Hamilton improved to 4-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season with the non-league win. The Continentals are 5-0 all-time against the Wildcats (1-2 overall).
Sathula made 10 of 16 field goal attempts and went 4-for-6 from the free throw line. She was also credited with five steals. Tricia Czeski '05 chipped in 17 points and five steals. Melissa Steppe '08 and Jessica Barrows '08 added 10 points apiece off the bench. Alicia Giglio '06 handed out a team-high six assists.
Cazenovia's leading scorer Tiffany Trent '05 poured in 24 points, dished out six assists and made four steals. Jen Seymour '05 added eight points and blocked a shot.
Hamilton led just 45-37 at the half, but pulled away in the second half by limiting the Wildcats to 21 points on 24.3 percent field goal shooting. Cazenovia was 0-for-9 on three-point attempts in the final 20 minutes. The Continentals take their perfect record on the road to Elmira College for a non-league game on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.
