The Hamilton Nordic Ski Club is a co-ed team that currently has about 20 members who are energetic and enthusiatic about taking full advantage of the long snowy winters in Clinton, NY!
MEMBERS
All X-C skiing abilities are welcome! Several members competed in their first races this past season, while others have been competing for many years.
FALL DRYLAND TRAINING
Before the snow falls, the team usually meets 3 times/week for runs, rollerskiing, hill bounding, and strength trainning. Exact practice times and locations are posted on the Practice Schedule link.
WINTER TRAINING
During the racing season, the teams practices after classes in Hamilton's own Root Glen, at Valley View Golf Course, or at the Trenton Fish and Game Club. Hamilton is located in close proximity to a number of other groomed trail systems as well. Some of our favorites include the BREIA trail system, Osceola and Lapland Lake.
WEEKEND RACING
The club competes in the Eastern division of the
United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association, USCSA. Other teams that regularly participate in this league include: the Army, Clarkson, Cornell, Ithaca, Paul Smilths, Skidmore, Wellesley, and Yale.
The regular racing season lasts from mid-January to mid-February. Regional and national championships occur in late February and early March.
In 2009 the women's team tied for 1st place in the division's overall standings. Check out our results link for more information!
