Media in the Digital Age

Thomas Bass
Visiting Professor of American Studies
http://www.thomasbass.com/

Our topic will be media and their transformations in the digital age. With New York as our laboratory, we will study the political and economic forces and new technologies that are currently reshaping print, film, broadcast, cable, Web, and other media. This is an interdisciplinary topic involving literary, historical, computational, and other approaches to studying the creation and dissemination of information. Students will have an opportunity to intern with a wide variety of companies in New York devoted to the production, distribution, and analysis of media.
