Director of Laboratories/Head Technician

The Hamilton College physics department is seeking a full-time Director of Laboratories/Head Technician. This position supports the educational mission of the Physics Department.
Primary responsibility is for teaching and setting up introductory laboratory courses. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to,
(1) Laboratory management, maintenance, and development for all courses.
(2) Collaborating with faculty with developing new laboratory exercises, and the devising and set up of lecture demonstrations for introductory courses.
(3) Coordinating the responsibilities of two part time technicians who support the teaching and research activities of the department.
Successful candidates will possess a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Physics and have a demonstrated ability to be highly organized, prioritize multiple tasks and manage short- and long- term projects. Experience in laboratory instruction is preferred.
