Summer Program
Opportunity Programs 2012
Arrival:
Students should arrive on campus between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1st .
An orientation meeting will take place promptly at 9:00 p.m. to welcome the students.
Departure:
Students are able to leave campus after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 4th at 12:00 noon.
If making airline reservations for August 3rd, departure must be after 7:00 p.m. from the Syracuse Airport.
If making train or bus reservations for August 3rd, departure must be after 6:00 pm from the Utica station.
Transportation:
Transportation to Hamilton College will be provided from the Utica railway and bus station as well as the Syracuse airport terminals.
Please advise the Opportunity Programs office (315 859-4398) of your travel plans well in advance of your arrival.
Cell Phones:
Students may bring a cell phone, but will check it upon arrival. Cell phones will be returned to students each weekend.
Things to bring:
Two sets of twin sheets, pillow, pillowcases and a spread or blanket.
Bathing suit, gym clothes, sweatshirt, sneakers and flip flops.
Extra pair of eyeglasses in case of accident, or prescription as an alternative
Dress clothing for special events:
(Required)
For young men – slacks, jacket, shirt, tie and dress shoes.
For young women – dress or skirt and dress shoes, no pants permitted.
Your original Green Card and/or Social Security card must be with you.
Things to leave at home:
Automobiles: no private automobiles are authorized during the summer or the academic year for first year students.
Computers, word processors, pagers, TVs, refrigerators and microwaves are not authorized during the summer.
Bring ONLY what you need because there is NO STORAGE available for you to use at the end of the program.
Documentation:
Please make sure the following documents are in the Opportunity Programs office PRIOR to your arrival to the Summer Program: (Please provide signatures for both parents where applicable)
Medical Authorization Form andcopy of medical insurance card
Signed copy of parent U.S. Federal Tax Form 1040 for 2011
Signed copy of parent New York State Tax Form for 2011 (NYS Residents only)
FAFSA
Copy of your TAP ( NYS residents only) and PELL ( Federal ) applications
