2013 Parent and Family Orientation

(Note: This is a tentative schedule. Times and locations may change. Please pick up a final schedule at orientation check-in)
 

Saturday, August 24

8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Orientation Check-in/Move-in

Welcome to Hamilton! Start off by picking up your Orientation packet and residence hall keys on the side of the campus where you’ll be living. Orientation Leaders (OLs) and Resident Advisors (RAs) will be available to greet students and family members and answer your questions.

One-Stop Shop — Essential Services

An informational open house with campus representatives regarding the Hill Card system, parent programs, dining services, the Mail Center, Barnes and Noble College Bookstore and area banks.

President Joan Hinde Stewart, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid Monica Inzer, Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds and Dean of Students Nancy Thompson will welcome the Class of 2017, transfer students and their families.

Meeting for Student-Athletes and Parents

Student athletes and parents will have the opportunity to meet Director of Athletics Jon Hind.

President’s Reception

Students and their families are invited to talk with the president, deans, administrators and faculty representatives from each office and academic department.

After the President’s Reception, students will move on to mandatory orientation activities; it is recommended that families say their goodbyes at this time.

Navigating the Road Ahead

Orientation for Parents and Family Members Learn what to expect as the family of a Hamilton College student and how to help. Discussion led by Director of Counseling and Psychological Services Bob Kazin, followed by questions and answers with current students.
