As a residential liberal arts college, Hamilton recognizes and values the learning opportunities that are available through the experience of living with peers in community. The Office of Residential Life coordinates both the logistical (eg. room changes, housing lottery) and educational aspects the residential system, supporting the College's educational mission through its philosophy and programs. The residential life staff, consisting of the director, Travis Hill; three live-in professionals, and 60 student resident advisors, supports students' efforts to face a variety of different challenges. These may range from maintenance requests to roommate conflicts, homesickness, and general questions about how to make the most of the college experience. The residential staff is committed to promoting a community that is based on respect and is conducive to learning.
