Missed OpportunitySoccer nearly pulls off historic upsetby David Biel '13Sports Writer November 06, 2009 Despite their successful regular season, the Continentals were edged out in the semifinals of the Liberty League tournament by Hobart. This was their second consecutive loss to the school, and in both games they got edged out by one goal. This time they were shutout 1-0 in a heartbreaking effort in which both defenses played well. After posting an 8-7 record and their first-ever appearance in the four-team Liberty League Championship tournament last year, finished the 2009 regular season with an 11-3 record. They also held a 6-1 record in conference play following the conclusion of the Liberty League's regular season.
