Profiles of Writing Tutors

Emily Anderson '13
Emily is a junior Public Policy major from Simsbury, CT. Her interests include eating Opus cookies, not going to the gym and reading Booker Prize winners. She is also an Alternative Spring Break leader and a member of the HAVOC E-board.
Emily Archer '13
Emily is a junior Sociology and Art double major who plans on going to culinary school after Hamilton. When not in the Writing Center, she can most likely be found spending too much time in the List art studios. Her interests include baking, harmonizing with the Hamiltones, drinking superfluous amounts of coffee, and doodling on any surface that presents itself to her.
McKinley Brumback '14
McKinley is a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland. She is almost positive she wants to major in Physics with a Math and Education double minor, but will wait until the spring to say for sure. Despite taking classes with terrifying names like "Quantum Physics" and "Linear Algebra,", she makes time for some English classes so she can escape the Science Center once in a while. McKinley loves to read, especially on her new Kindle, and is currently hooked on the Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin. When she's not in a Physics Lab, McKinley enjoys Euphoria Smoothies, buffalo chicken wraps at the Diner, playing Scrabble, and watching Top Chef every Wednesday.
Cooper Creagan '13
Cooper is a junior English major, math minor, and lover of languages.  When he’s not speaking at the Spanish, Chinese, or French tables in Commons, he’s normally in the fitness center or eating pasta.  He loves reading Shakespeare and living in Keehn as a Resident Advisor.
Allison Eck '12
Allison is a senior Comparative Literature and Physics double major who has no idea what prompted her to take on such a crazy combination. Allison is a fan of classical music, the movie Back to the Future, Russian literature, Severus Snape, and dark chocolate Reese's cups. She is the editor of the Spectator, plays clarinet in the orchestra, and has recently decided to teach herself how to play the french horn. Allison looks forward to many exciting writing conferences!
Maeve Gately '12
Maeve Gately is a senior majoring in Comparitive Literature and Art History. When she is not in the Writing Center, you will most likely find her stretched out on the quad with a copy of A.S. Byatt's Possession, or (when the snow begins to fall) baking a batch of gluten-free brownies!

Lauren Magaziner '12
Lauren is a senior Creative Writing major and Philosophy minor. Her random slew of talents include the rote memorization of every line from the first three Harry Potter movies, the inability to keep her room clean, and a wicked Gollum impression.  If you're really lucky, she'll conference with you in the Gollum voice (Just kidding.).  She's pretty much obsessed with editing, so please bring her every paper you've ever written!  To her, words are preciousssss.
Andre Matlock '12
Andre is a senior who focuses mainly on the study of Classics and Philosophy.
Ryan Park '12
Ryan is a senior from Moraga, California. He is double majoring in fun (Creative Writing/Theatre). When he is not pretending to be someone else, whether that be on stage or on paper, Ryan is training to be a hardcore korfer with the Korfball Club, playing 5 lives with Hamilton's club water polo team, or salvaging leftover food from the evil clutches of the Commons trashcans. He looks forward to taking many new classes vicariously through your papers.

She is obsessed with Bananagrams, dumplings, and unicorns. In her free time, Abby also enjoys antiquing and scuba diving.
Hannah Schacter '12
Hannah is a senior from Newton, Massachusetts. She is a psychology major and a psych stats TA. When Hannah isn’t on the third floor of the Science Center, she can be found getting her caffeine fix in Opus, listening to 90s one hit wonders in her room, or attempting to win Tex Mex money at Trivia Night. She is also one of few remaining Survivor loyalists.
