Software

  • Zoom - Video conferencing software. Also has polling capability.
  • Flipgrid - an asynchronous video-based message board system. See our introduction to the platform here.
  • Bada Boom - Web-based game show style quiz application. Students log in via their phones or devices (no download required!). Similar to Kahoot, but more variety in question format (multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, number-range, etc.)
  • Socrative - An online assessment tool. Create quizzes, quick question polls, exit tickets. Instant grading and visualization of student understanding. One can use multiple choice and true/false questions. Also, quizzes you create are shareable with other teachers, and vice versa.
  • Video Recording/Editing Applications - Using built-in software such as Photo Booth, iMovie and GarageBand, it’s possible to make a variety of projects, for example a mock news broadcast.
