Field Studies participants, K12 Chinese Language Teachers' Institute participants, and all Fulbright Scholarship recipients must complete outreach activities at the conclusion of their Associated Colleges in China experience.

Outreach activities are an important aspect of ACC. They reinforce several of ACC's overarching goals to strengthen students' commitment to global understanding and international education and to help students develop self-awareness during and after an intensive language experience. Through outreach activities, ACC participants are actively engaging in the development of cultural and linguistic understanding between the peoples of the U.S. and China.

Upon returning from China, participants create presentations about their ACC experiences to share with their communities, local schools & colleges and/or other organizations. The outreach activity is planned and executed within a few months of the participant's return to the United States. Participants who do not immediately return to the U.S. after their program can write a report or article and submit it to a U.S.-based local newspaper or newsletter.

We encourage students to use their imaginations and incorporate their varied talents into their outreach activity presentations. In the past, participants have written articles, made movies and presented photographic collages of their experiences. Please see the table below to view past outreach activities and presentation posters to advertise the outreach activity event.

Fulbright Scholarship recipients complete outreach activities as a part of their agreement to accept the award. Students who successfully complete their outreach activities are eligible to receive Hamilton College academic credit for the program they completed.
