NOTE to HAMILTON STUDENTS: In addition to completing the HCAYS application, Hamilton students must also complete the required Hamilton study abroad planning process in order to receive institutional approval for participation in our program. Hamilton students should follow the instructions provided by the Office of Off-Campus Study found on the Getting Started page of the Off-Campus Study website.

The HCAYS application must be completed online by clicking the Application link below.
All students must create an account and a profile through Via-TRM.
Non-Hamilton students, initially click the small “Sign Up” link found below the “Sign In” box.
Hamilton students, sign in directly using the “Sign In” box.
Once you have created your profile and account, you will be directed back to the main HCAYS Via TRM page to sign in and access the application.
Materials that you will need to provide:
- 300 Word Essay in English
- Writing Sample in Spanish
- Three Recommendations
One recommendation must be from a recent language professor.
The second recommendation must be from a recent professor in your major. (If Spanish is your major, please ask for a recommendation from two professors.)
The third recommendation must be from your Advisor or Director/Dean of Off-Campus Study. (At Hamilton College as regards GPA, PE & WI requirements, the Director of Off-Campus Study contact information is firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Unofficial transcript from your current college or university.
Due upon Acceptance:
Within two weeks of acceptance, you must remit a $500 non-refundable deposit, your Release Agreement, your Personal Health History (self-disclosure), three, official passport-size photographs and a scan of your passport pages.
IMPORTANT for Hamilton College students: Please submit your LEAVE of ABSENCE Form to the Off-Campus Study Office, Christian A. Johnson 105.
