Windsite's History

The Hamilton College Class of '91 has provided the campus a complete wind assessment system from the NRG Systems company. The components of the wind assessment system include:

Network access to the NRG 9300 datalogger, the computing backbone of WindSite, required the design, development and maintenance of a WindSite relational database. The database maintains a constantly updated record of weather and turbine data. The database is flexible enough to allow the incorporation of new fields and new data sets from additional dataloggers.

Stage one: Getting the datalogger and associated software installed and tested.

Stage two: Deciding the best approach for making data and software accessible via campus server. This involved experimenting with the software anddiscussing alternative implementations with the science faculty who intended to use it.

Stage three:Implementing and testing the server version of WindSite.
