Hamilton’s Student Fellowships Coordinator will work with you to identify and apply for nationally and internationally competitive opportunities.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.

Jonathan Dong ’21 has been awarded the College’s prestigious Bristol Fellowship to explore The Global Rise in Sustainable Aquaculture by traveling to Mexico, Chile, Kenya, Singapore, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.

Amy Harff ’21, Jiin Jeong ’21, and Liam Prum ’21 have been named Watson Fellows, with each receiving a $36,000 stipend to pursue a “year of independent, purposeful exploration” abroad. The prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship is awarded to graduating seniors nominated by one of 41 partner institutions.

Eleanna “Ele” Sorensen ’23 will hone her long-time interest in the Arabic language as the recipient of a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS).

For the 11th consecutive year, Hamilton has been named a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Top Producing Institution. Hamilton had 27 applicants for the 2020-21 academic year application cycle, including one alum. Fourteen students were named semi-finalists, 10 received the grant, and two were selected as alternates.

Marquis Palmer, a 2018 Hamilton graduate from Utica, N.Y., has been selected to receive a Marshall Scholarship, one of the most competitive and prestigious postgraduate scholarships awarded to U.S. citizens.

After learning about life in Malaysia from students she tutored in nearby Utica, Abby Rosovsky ’20 will head to the Southeast Asian country in January as the recipient of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship.

Inspired by her study abroad experience in Asia last year, Eliza Renn ’20 is eager to return and learn about education reform in Taiwan. She’ll do that in 2021 as the recipient of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship.

After studying abroad in Spain for a semester during her junior year, Charlotte Freed ’20 knew she would one day return. As the recipient of a Fulbright English teaching assistantship, she’ll have that opportunity starting in January.

Emma Belanger ’20 knew that she wanted to explore pursue her interests in Chinese and Russian language and culture after graduation, but wasn't sure how. Then, while studying abroad, she learned of Harbin, a town in China on the border of Russia.
