You arrived on College Hill from the Bronx and made your mark at Hamilton. As one of the first leaders of LaVanguardia and a member of BLSU you established life-long relationships and saw the value of networking early in your Hamilton affiliation.
After graduating from Hamilton with a degree in philosophy, you returned to the Bronx and, after working in the catering business for five years, started your own company, Salsa Caterers & Entertainment. You are quoted in a news article saying that you wanted to "show that Latinos can do and do it well." You've done it well. What started as a small scale catering company providing quality Latino food has turned into a multi-million dollar full-service catering business with clients such as Warner Brothers, Marc Anthony and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
Your comments to your customers on your company Web site state that you "look forward to a bright new future, continuing to nurture life-long relationships." The same can be said of your commitment to Hamilton. Over the years you have gone out of your way to reach out and encourage Latino and minority students. You have provided networking opportunities by hosting send-off parties in New York. You also continued to nurture that same relationship with alumni of color by hosting the first multicultural regional event in the South Bronx in January 2006. You have provided students internships and have convinced the administration to do more for students of color. Over the years you have given back regularly to the College including a spectacular year when you participated in a challenge to raise funds for LaVanguardia, a demonstration of the value you place on these relationships.
The Multicultural Alumni Relations Committee and the Hamilton College Office of Alumni Relations take particular pleasure in saluting you for making history and nurturing life-long associations with the campus community.
