  • Hamilton President Joan Hinde Stewart will be honored with the Alumni Council’s Bell Ringer Award at Reunions ’16. The Bell Ringer Award is presented each year in recognition of contributions made to the College, its alumni and the community. President Stewart will retire from Hamilton at the end of the 2015-16 academic year.

  • George Mack ’92, managing director of the Barclays Global Restructuring and Finance Group, recently hosted students from the Hamilton Program in New York City to talk about his experiences in the finance industry as well as encourage some debate about current political and financial issues.

  • The goal of the first TEDx talk at Hamilton College, sponsored by the Oral Communication Center and Dean of Faculty’s Office, was to leave the conformity of our everyday lives and return to no-strings attached inquisitive nature of youth in order to achieve uninhibited curiosity and creativity.

  • Hamilton will have a new health and counseling center because of a generous gift announced during Fallcoming weekend from Reverend Dr. Beth Johnson P’93 and Joel W. Johnson ’65 P’93. Their leadership commitment will enable the college to offer best-in-class services for the student body in a setting with ample space and furnishings to provide a safe, private and welcoming environment focused on health and wellness.

  • Hamilton’s new Program in the Adirondacks got off to a good start with a welcome dinner hosted by Susan Bacot-Davis '88 at her home on Lake Champlain in Essex, NY. At the dinner the students met a few other alumni and several of the partners they would be working with throughout the semester.

  • During his visit to the United States, Pope Francis took some time to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001 with the help of a memorial created by Spencer Finch ’85. Finch’s work, Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning, is on display at the September 11 Memorial Museum.

  • New York State assemblyman and Hamilton alum Ron Kim ’02 proved that his years of playing on the Hamilton College football team may have proved useful in ways he hadn’t imagined.

  • Attendees of the 15th annual Group Decision and Negotiation Conference in Warsaw, Poland had the pleasure of hearing a keynote address from Jeswald W. Salacuse ’60. Salacuse, Henry J. Braker Professor of Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, part of Tufts University, titled his address “The Hidden Persuader – The Role of the Advisor in Negotiations and Group Decision Making.”
