Feel like you're off track and unsure where to start? Move your Monday! Surveys show Monday holds significant influences on beginning a new routine, particularly exercise, and is a powerful time to engage your efforts. The Monday Mile is a fun, weekly walk that promotes wellness, relationship-building with your community, requires minimal time, is a low-impact activity while offering mental and physical health benefits. Program begins Monday, February 6th and runs through Monday, May 15th

How to Monday Mile:

  • Stop by the Blood Fitness Center front desk for your Monday Mile Passport to track your participation and earn Hamilton Wellness swag. Each shoe represents a Monday in that month. Cross off 1 shoe for every Monday Mile you complete. Passports will be available for pickup starting Friday February 3rd.
  • Meet Monday Milestones and reward yourself with swag! Earn magnets, water bottles, t-shirts, and more!
  • Make a point to meet with others at a location of your choice, or use 1 of 4 muster points around campus (see map)
  • Complete 1 mile via your method of choice. We have a designated campus loop, indoor track, outdoor track, treadmills in the Fitness Center, or perhaps you have a favorite route of your own!
  • Smile, take in the fresh air, have a chat, host a walking meeting, the options are endless!
  • Feeling adventurous? Extend your distance, jog, or run.

Grab a friend, a group of colleagues, or set off on a solo expedition to Move your Monday!

Feeling stressed? Make the time to step away, lower your heart rate and blood pressure, and absorb a 45-minute sound healing session.

* What is Sound Healing?

Sound Healing is an ancient healing modality that integrates your body, mind and subtle energies and shifts you into a state of deep relaxation and healing from within. Everything has a sound or vibration of its own, a frequency at which that object naturally vibrates. Each part of the body has its own natural resonance, and sound healing works to bring what is out of tune due to stress, sickness, or environmental impacts back into a natural resonant state that allows the whole self to shift into greater harmony, awareness and balance.

* What happens in a Sound Healing session?

During a sound healing session, you will have an internal sensory experience in a small group setting. All you need to do is find a comfortable space and receive various sound frequencies from crystal singing bowls, chimes, cymbals, drums and rattles. You may experience colors, images, and visions during your experience or you may simply go into a deep state of rest and relaxation. You will be guided by Andrea Villiere (Under the Sun Wellness) from start to finish, and leave feeling different from when you arrived.

No registration necessary, just show up and relax! Bring a yoga mat or blanket for comfort.

WHERE:   Filius Events Barn, 4:15 - 5:15pm every other Wednesday for Spring 2023

Taking the right steps towards addressing your heart begins with knowing your numbers! At this non-fasting screening, professionals from Bassett Healthcare Network’s division of Occupational Health will be on hand to provide a cardiac risk profile.  This includes measuring the following:  weight, waist-hip ratio, blood pressure, total cholesterol, HDL (the good stuff), glucose, and, for smokers, a carbon monoxide test.   Results will be reviewed on the spot with certified wellness staff.  Fifteen minutes is all it will take.  You’ll leave armed with the information you need to chart the best course for your wellness efforts.

Appointments are available from 9am to 3pm. Register Here
