January Orientation Schedule


We look forward to welcoming new January Admission and transfer students and their families to campus! To assist you in your planning, the tentative January Orientation schedule for 2021 is below. Events shaded in blue are mandatory for all new students. Events shaded in yellow are parent and family sessions. Family members are welcome to attend all events on January 15 prior to 1 p.m., and the two afternoon parent and family sessions, highlighted in yellow below.

Friday, january 15

8:30 a.m. – Noon
Orientation Check-In and Residence Hall Move-In
Welcome to Hamilton!  Start off by picking up your Orientation booklet, student ID card, and residence hall keys in the Sadove Student Center Lobby.  Student Orientation Leaders will be ready to greet new students and family members and answer questions.

President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, Dean of Admission Peaches Valdes, and Dean of Students Terry Martinez will welcome you to Hamilton College.  Enjoy lunch with our Orientation and Division of Student Life Staff, and other parents and students.
First-Floor Commons, Kirner-Johnson

*Students and families should plan to say their goodbyes at the conclusion of the luncheon, as students will have a packed schedule for the remainder of the day.*

1:15 - 2:15 p.m.
Parent and Family Session: Navigating the Road Ahead
Dean of Students Terry Martinez and other members of the Division of Student Life will share information about the student experience and resources at Hamilton.

1:15 - 2 p.m.
Orientation Group Meetings
Various Locations. Students will depart with their groups from Tolles Pavilion.

2 - 3:30 p.m.
Matriculation
President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, Dean of Admission Peaches Valdes, and Dean of Students Terry Martinez will greet students as part of this annual and historic tradition.
