Orientation check-in and residence hall move-in for new students takes place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on January 15, and all new students should plan to arrive on campus within that timeframe. 

The 2022 January Orientation Schedule is below. Parents and family members are invited to join their student at residence hall move-in,  and should plan to adhere to all protocol outlined in the Spring 2022 COVID-19 Operations update.  Students and family members should plan to say their goodbyes by 1pm, and new students will begin required programming at that time. 

Family members are invited to attend the virtual "President and Deans' Welcome" on January 13 and “Navigating the Road Ahead” panel discussion on January 20.  Details are below, and Zoom links will be sent to parents and students via email.

President and Deans' Welcome
President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, Dean of Admission Peaches Valdes, and Dean of Students Terry Martinez will welcome you to Hamilton College.  This welcome session is intended for all new January Admission students and their families, and will be hosted via live Zoom webinar.  Details and a link will be provided to students and families via email.

Orientation Check-In and Residence Hall Move-in
Welcome to Hamilton! Start off at the Tolles Pavilion to take your arrival COVID-19 test, and then head down the hallway to the Events Barn to pick up your room keys and orientation packet.  Orientation Leaders (OLs) will be available to greet students and family members and answer questions.  New students will receive detailed arrival information via email.

12 - 1 p.m.
Grab and Go Lunch
Prepared to-go lunches will be provided for all students and family members. 
Location: McEwen Dining Hall
Students and family members are asked to say their goodbyes between noon and 1pm.  New students will begin required programming at 1pm.

1 - 2 p.m.
Orientation Group Meetings
Meet your orientation group!  Your Orientation Leader (OL) will give you an overview of orientation activities and events, and discuss important guidelines for the days ahead.

2 - 4 p.m.
Matriculation
Visit Buttrick Hall to sign the historic College Register.  President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, Vice President for Enrollment Management Monica Inzer, and Dean of Students Terry Martinez will greet you as a part of this annual tradition.  Students will attend this event in their orientation groups, at individually assigned times.  Please see your OL for details.

Welcome Dinner in Orientation groups

Community Standards: Student Conduct Rights and Responsibilities
This two-part presentation will include an introduction to community standards at Hamilton, presented by Dayna Campbell, Assistant Director of Community Standards, and an overview of Hamilton's Sexual Misconduct Policy and resources, presented by Catherine Berryman, Director of Community Standards.
