January Orientation Schedule


We look forward to welcoming new January Admission and transfer students and their families to campus!  2021 January Orientation will run from Monday, January 25 through Sunday, January 31.  New students should plan to arrive on campus on Monday, January 25 between 10am-4pm to allow for staggered residence hall move-in and COVID-19 testing.  Further details about arrival, testing and quarantine will be sent via email to all new students.

The 2021 January Orientation Schedule is below.  All students will receive additional information when they arrive on January 25. Please note there are two sessions that new parents and families are invited to join in as well: the President and Deans' Welcome on January 26, and a panel discussion on student life resources for families on the evening on January 28th.  Additional parent programs in the month of February will be announced via email.

monday, January 25

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Orientation Check-In, COVID-19 Testing and Residence Hall Move-in
Welcome to Hamilton! Your first stop on campus is the COVID-19 testing location.  After you complete your test, pick up your room keys and welcome packet, and proceed to your residence hall.  Orientation Staff will be available to greet you and answer your questions.
Location: Begin at the COVID-19 testing site in the Tolles Pavilion.  See your email and signage on campus for further instructions.

12 - 1 p.m.
Lunch
All students will receive information about dining in advance of arrival. You will be assigned a time and location to pick up your meals from a campus dining hall. (Note: lunch on arrival day will be provided for those students who register for an arrival time prior to 1pm).

5 - 6 p.m.
Dinner
All students will receive information about dining in advance of arrival. You will be assigned a time and location to pick up your meals from a campus dining hall. (Please note that when you pick up your dinner you will also pick up a continental breakfast for the following morning).

Understanding the whole of ourselves - our varied identities and how they intersect - colors the way in which we perceive the world and how the world perceives us further impacting how we show up in the spaces we inhabit at any given time. This synchronous, virtual session aims to clarify the terms diversity and multiculturalism, explain how your varied identities can be categorized as target or agent and why that is all important as you transition to becoming a member of the Hamilton community.

Matriculation
Visit the Chapel to sign the historic College Register.  President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen, Vice President for Enrollment Management Monica Inzer, and Dean of Students Terry Martinez will (virtually!) greet new students during this annual and historic Hamilton tradition.

Campus Scavenger Hunt & Explorations
Get to know your campus, and your friends, in this fun, active, and challenging mini-adventure. Your Orientation Leaders will guide you around activities all over campus.
