Peter Anthony Fasolino '74

Sep. 8, 1952-Jun. 12, 2020

Peter Anthony Fasolino ’74, who entered the family business founded by his father, updated its technology to ensure its success for a third generation. His commitment to technology and inventory management sparked major growth at AEF Sales, the heater-cable business in Mamaroneck, N.Y.

Fasolino, of Vero Beach, Fla., died on June 12, 2020, at age 67. He was born on Sept. 8, 1952, in Port Chester, N.Y., to Anthony and Lucy Galgano Fasolino. He graduated from Rye Neck High School.

At Hamilton, he played on the varsity football team for all four years and joined Delta Upsilon fraternity. He had a passion for Russian history and literature. When three students from the Soviet Union visited the Hill in 1972, Fasolino was one of three Hamilton and Kirkland students who took on the visitors in well-publicized debates.

His Hamilton friends remember constructing a makeshift lounge just outside his North dorm room, where students would congregate, with Fasolino emceeing the fun.

After graduating from Hamilton, Fasolino spent a year mentoring underprivileged children in Utica. He supported himself by working in a slaughterhouse, which led to a lifelong commitment to vegetarianism. From there, he returned to his hometown to join his father’s company. Fasolino’s son is now AEF president, and numerous relatives work at the company.

In his earlier years after graduation, Fasolino wrote opinion pieces that were published in Newsweek and The New York Times, including a 1977 humor piece about jogging.

Fasolino was a dedicated family man who grew up next door to his maternal grandparents. A huge Walt Disney fan, he enjoyed visiting Disney World with his children and grandchildren. Those who knew him suspect that his love of sheepdogs resulted from all the Disney’s shaggy dog movies he watched.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Campanello Fasolino, a son, a daughter, and grandchildren.
