  • More than 140 Hamilton community members took part in the 5th annual AK5K on Oct. 8 at SUNY Poly in Utica. The charity run and walk was in honor of Alexandra Kogut, a 2012 New Hartford Senior High School graduate who was killed inside her dorm room at SUNY Brockport in 2012.

  • The Hamilton College men's soccer team has determined that its NESCAC home game against Bates College on Saturday, Sept. 9, will benefit the Go4theGoal Foundation in the organization's fight against pediatric cancer.

  • The Hamilton Microfinance Group (HMG) hosted its 4th Annual Valentine’s Date Auction on Feb. 9 and raised over $800. All proceeds from this fundraiser went toward giving small business loans to local entrepreneurs.

  • Competition was heated in the Field House on Feb. 11 and it wasn’t a NESCAC athletic contest. The Inter-Society Council (ISC) hosted a philanthropy event "Charity FUN(d) Fest,” that raised $4,000 for Planned Parenthood, Be The Match, No One Left Behind, and the Midtown Utica Community Center.

  • The Men's Hockey Date Auction sponsored by the Social Traditions Committee on Jan. 25 was another huge success, raising $702 for the Young Civic Leaders Scholarship. Started last year by The Hamilton College Philanthropy Committee, the scholarship is given to a local high school senior who has demonstrated commitment to community service and is continuing his/her education at a higher level.

  • Three sophomores inspired by Hamilton’s annual Cram & Scram reused furniture and goods sale have taken clothing shopping on campus to a new level with their pop-up Thrift Shop, open today outside Sadove Student Center.  Mary Langworthy, Audrey Love and Sara Purinton are operating a recycled clothing shop with items donated and now purchased by students, faculty and staff. In just three hours the trio has taken in more than $300 which will be turned over to benefit the Nepal relief efforts through an organization that their classmate Nepal native Sharif Shrestha started.

  • For its last meeting of the semester, Philanthropy Committee invited the scholars of the Clinton A Better Chance (ABC) Program to the weekly Student Assembly meeting in honor of the committee’s recent donation of $1000 to the ABC organization. Four of the six scholars of Clinton ABC attended to speak about what the organization provides for these students.

  • Student Assembly’s Social Traditions Committee hosted the 4th annual Men’s Hockey Date Auction on Nov. 12 in the Fillius Events Barn.  A total of $360 was raised, with proceeds going to Thea Bowman House in Utica.

  • A number of Hamilton student-athletes braved icy cold conditions on Dec. 8 to participate in the 7th annual Oneida Shores Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics New York. The event took place in Brewerton on Oneida Lake.
