Hamilton’s curling teams competed in a two-day bonspiel that they co-hosted with Colgate University at the Utica Curling Club, Feb. 13-14. As a result of winning the E event Hamilton earned enough points to qualify for the USA College Curling Nationals, which will be held at the Rochester Curling Club on March 13 to 15.

Hamilton and Colgate University’s curling teams are co-hosting the annual College Bonspiel on Feb. 13-14 at the Utica Curling Club, 8300 Clark Mills Road, Whitesboro. Saturday’s individual matches begin at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., with the championship at 4:30 p.m. The tournament is free and open to the public. A live stream will be available here.

The Hamilton curling team made its first-ever appearance at the College Curling National Championships, held March 14-16 in Blaine, Minn. Hamilton was represented by captain Meghan Doherty ’14, Tara Huggins ’14, Josh Devinney ’15 and Jake Davidson ’15.

Hamilton’s curling team finished the 2013-2014 season ranked 16th in U.S. College Curling Merit Point Standings, thus qualifying for Nationals which will be held March 14-16 in Blaine, Minn. Hamilton Team 1 will be competing against 15 other teams from all over the country. Team 1 members representing Hamilton are captain Meghan Doherty ’14, Tara Huggins ’14, Josh Devinney ’15 and Jake Davidson ’15.

Hamilton’s curling team is back in action with 20 members competing this season under captain Meghan Doherty '14 and president Trevor Howe ’14. The team’s season began in October and will continue until March.

Hamilton co-hosted the second annual Utica Curling Club Collegiate Bonspiel on Feb. 24-25 at the Utica Curling Club.  Thirteen teams from Boston University, Bowling Green, Colgate, Harvard, MIT, RIT, RPI, SUNY Binghamton, UMass, and U Penn competed along with three teams from Hamilton.

This past weekend, the Hamilton College Curling team traveled to Bowling Green, Ohio, to compete in the Bowling Green Regional Bonspiel.  Two teams from Hamilton competed in the event.

Hamilton’s curling team has recently competed in two bonspiels (tournaments). The team traveled to Boston for their first bonspiel of the year, where they competed against teams from MIT, Villanova, Colgate and RPI. A week later, the Club, in conjunction with the Colgate Curling Club and Mary Jane Walsh from the Utica Curling Club, hosted the first Utica Curling Club Collegiate Friendly with 13 teams.
