Hamilton College has been awarded a $1.975 million grant through New York State's Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program (HECap) to support continued renovations to Russell Sage Rink, the oldest continuously operating college hockey rink in the country and home to more than a century of Hamilton Hockey traditions.

The Hamilton men’s ice hockey team etched its place in history on Sunday, March 29, earning the program’s first NCAA Division III championship. The Continentals defeated No. 1-ranked Hobart College in a 2–1 overtime thriller that brought to an end the Statesmen’s undefeated season and hopes for a fourth consecutive national title.

The Continentals defeated Hobart and William Smith in overtime when Curtiss Sturgeon ’29 scored with 3:16 left in the first sudden-victory overtime period, and lifted Hamilton to a 2-1 victory. Hank Morgan ’25 has taken his all-American college basketball skills to the G League. The 6’5” forward is currently playing with the Maine Celtics, an affiliate of the Boston Celtics.
