  • The Hamilton College Buffers traveled to New York City to sing at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, Dec. 17, to open the 5 p.m. performance of the tremendously popular Christmas Spectacular, starring the Radio City Rockettes.

  • Hamilton’s male a capella group The Buffers delivered their annual Valentine’s Day Buffergrams on Feb. 12. The group, founded in 1952, had a full day of song deliveries, from McEwen to the Science Center, with classrooms and offices in between. Students, faculty and administrators all over campus were serenaded  — from 5 a.m. in early wake-up calls — to 6 p.m.

  • FebFest’s annual Mr. Hamilton competition attracted a large crowd to the Annex on Feb. 11.  Mr. Football, Lashawn Russell-Ware ’17, was crowned Mr. Hamilton from a field of seven contestants.  Nearly $900 was raised at the event to benefit Alternative Spring Break.

  • Hamilton a capella group The Buffers performed in the 33rd annual John Lennon Tribute concert before a sold-out crowd at Symphony Space on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Dec. 6. The Lennon Tribute, co-sponsored by Theatre Within and Music Without Borders, began in 1981 as a small gathering of artists who wished to honor the memory of the musical icon, and has since grown into a major charity event for the Spirit Foundation, which Lennon and Yoko Ono founded in 1978.

  • Hamilton College is mourning the death of recent graduate Joshua “Jicks” Hicks ’09.  In an email to the Hamilton community, President Joan Hinde Stewart wrote in part, “It is with immense sadness that I write with news of the death on Friday, April 6, of Joshua ‘Jicks’ Hicks '09, who was a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. A wonderful young man of great personal warmth and a talented singer, he came to Hamilton with Boston Posse 4, majored in religious studies and was a member of the Buffers, the choir and ELS."
