Hamilton students volunteered at more than 20 non-profit agencies in Oneida County for Make A Difference Day. The students provided a variety of services ranging from cleaning the Utica Children’s Museum, polishing the kitchen at Hope House, weeding the garden at Clinton Elementary School, and leading activities at Lutheran Care Nursing Home.

Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) helped students get to know the local community and provide service to non-profit organizations on Sept. 9 when it sponsored the 16th annual Make a Difference Day.

More than 125 Hamilton students took part in the 14th annual Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) Make a Difference Day. Individual students, teams and groups signed up for a wide range of volunteer opportunities to engage in for the day.

More than 150 Hamilton students took part in this year’s annual Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) Make a Difference Day. Dressed in bright green HAVOC t-shirts, students signed up for a wide range of volunteer opportunities to engage in for the day, from homes for the elderly to animal sanctuaries.

Anyone who has participated in one of Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) days of service knows that the adage “the early bird catches the worm” readily applies to the sign-up process. By 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, volunteers had already begun lining up at tables in the Fillius Events Barn, eager to match themselves with the sites of their choices for HAVOC’s annual Make a Difference Day.

Approximately 140 Hamilton College students participated in the annual “Make a Difference Day” on Saturday, Sept. 11. The HAVOC-sponsored event is aimed at connecting the Hamilton community to non-profit agencies in the surrounding area.

More than 130 students participated in HAVOC's annual Make a Difference Day on Saturday, Sept. 12. The students volunteered at the Utica Public Library, Loretto Utica Center, Your Neighbors Inc., Rome Humane Society, Kirkland Art Center, Kirkland Town Library, Hope House, and the Neighborhood Center, among others. Volunteers cleaned animal cages, walked animals, organized donations, and did face painting for children. The event was followed by a reflection time/ice cream social.
