Hamilton College finished in 11th place out of 15 teams at the 2012 Williams College Purple Valley Classic held at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass., on Sept. 22.

Results

Sarah Ohanesian '14 was the first Hamilton runner across the finish line in 23rd place with a career-best time of 23 minutes, 17 seconds on the 6-kilometer course. Her top time last year was 24:09.

Lainie Smith '16 came in second for the Continentals and 65th overall with a time of 24:14. Hallie Loft '15 secured a top-100 finish by placing 99th with a time of 24:47.

The next three Hamilton runners finished within one second of each other. Krystina Choinski '15 and Hannah Lyons '14 each crossed the finish line in 24:48, and Allie Gurney '14 finished with a time of 24:49.

The field included 215 runners and eight nationally ranked Division III teams. They were Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1), Middlebury College (3), Williams (7), Amherst College (11), Tufts University (18), Ohio Northern University (19), New York University (27) and Oberlin College (35). Division I Fordham also competed.

Williams won the team title with 78 points. Addie Tousley of Middlebury won the individual title with a time of 21:50. Hamilton finished with 308 points.

The Continentals hit the trails again in two weeks on Saturday, Oct. 6, when Hamilton hosts its own invitational.
