Major John Dehn, a member of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, will present "The President, the Congress, and the War on Terror" on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Red Pit in the Kirner-Johnson Building. The event, sponsored by the government department, is free and open to the public.
Dehn, author of articles on the separation of powers and civil-military relations, will conduct a lecture-discussion on issues including detainee designation and treatment and the nature of the war making power. While he is a recognized authority in this field, his views are not those of the U.S. government or any department or agency thereof. Dehn is currently a candidate for a master's degree in law at Columbia Law School. He received a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy, a J.D. with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and an LL.M. in military law from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's School.
