The Hamilton College Department of Music will open the 2002-03 season on Saturday, Sept. 7, with a 20th-century retrospective concert featuring Hamilton College music faculty at 8 p.m. in Wellin Hall.

Included in the program will be Korngold's Sonata Op. 6, performed by Sara Mastrangelo, violin, and Sar shalom Strong, piano; chromatic abberations (1984), composed by Samuel Pellman and performed by Joyce Ucci, piano, and Colleen Roberts Pellman, piano; Poulenc's C., Violon, and Les Chemins de l'amour, performed by Lauralyn Kolb, soprano, and Tina Toglia, piano; Malcolm Lewis' Three Etudes - Homage to Chopin performed by Sar Strong, piano; John Kander's A Letter from Sullivan Ballou  performed by Anita Firman, soprano, and Colleen Roberts Pellman, piano; W.C. Handy's  St. Louis Blues performed by Monk Rowe, alto saxophone; and Bohuslav Martinu's Nonet conducted by Heather Buchman and performed by Linda Greene on flute, Patricia Sharpe on oboe, Barbara Rabin on clarinet, Lynn Hileman on bassoon, Paul Brown on horn, Vladimir Pritsker on violin, Eric Gustafson on viola, Florent Renard-Payen on cello, and Edward Castilano on bass.
