Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the National Communication Association's student honor society held its annual induction ceremony Tuesday, April 24, at 4:30 pm in the Azel Backus House. Meghan Hepp '07, Lucy Barnard '08, Amy Brown '08, and Emma Slane '08 were honored as new inductees.
The Greek letters Lambda, Pi, and Eta, represent Aristotle's three components of persuasion: Logos (logic), Pathos (emotion), and Ethos (character). LPH holds over 400 chapters and 5,000 members nationwide. The organization strives to reward outstanding scholastic achievement, while stimulating further interest in communications.
Vice President for Communications and Development Dick Tantillo served as the keynote speaker, and Hepp, Barnard, Brown, and Slane were each presented with a red and white LPH honor cord and pin. The new members join seniors Michael Blasie, Alicia Colabella, Alanna MacKenzie, Samantha Pitter, Allison Pohl, and Britt Carnegie in the active Hamilton chapter.
