Hamilton College will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday with a number of campus and community events in January.

On Monday, Jan. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon, 20 Hamilton employees will participate in Employee Community Service Day at various sites around greater Utica. The college has given release time to employees who are participating. Volunteers will work at the Habitat for Humanity house in Whitesboro, JCTOD in Utica, and Hope House. Hope House will have volunteers helping to prepare the lunch meal, and serving it at the beginning. A few pairs of volunteers will help out through the Your Neighbors, Inc. organization.
