Lisa McFall, associate director, metadata and digital initiatives in LITS, published a chapter in Quick Hits for Teaching with Digital Humanities: Successful Strategies from Award-Winning Teachers, recently released by Indiana University Press.

The chapter, “Metadata in the Classroom: Fostering an Understanding of the Value of Metadata in Digital Humanities,” offers ideas for teaching students about metadata in an approachable way, focusing on how to leverage their experience with metadata in daily life to show them that metadata creation is not intimidating, thus building their confidence in creating metadata for digital projects.
