Giorgi Chavleishvili '08 scored a game-high 13 points off the bench to lead Hamilton College to a 78-47 Liberty League win against visiting Skidmore College at Scott Field House on Feb. 2.
Chavleishvili made 5 of 6 shots from the floor and went 3-for-6 at the free throw line. He also grabbed three defensive rebounds as he played just 16 minutes. Chavleishvili has scored in double figures six times this season. He is shooting 58.4 percent (59-101) from the field and averaging 7.4 points per game.
Hamilton (13-5 overall, 6-2 league) has won three straight games. The Continentals lead the all-time series against Skidmore with 30 wins and just six losses. The Thoroughbreds (2-17, 1-8) have lost five in a row after defeating Hamilton 88-84 in overtime on Jan. 20.
Zarrette Rogers '07 and Dave Alston '10 scored 12 points apiece for the Continentals. Harlee Wood '09 added 10 points and four steals. Jay Simpson '10 chipped in nine points and handed out a season-high seven assists.
Hamilton led 37-28 at the half and opened the second half with a 13-2 run for a 50-30 advantage. The Thoroughbreds didn't threaten again. The Continentals shot 53.6 percent (30-56) from the field, including 10 of 20 from three-point range. Hamilton's full court pressure helped account for 13 steals and 23 Skidmore turnovers.
