Hamilton College men's crew alum Willy Cowles '09 (Farmington, Conn.) raced for the U.S. in the men's quadruple sculls at the 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup #3 in Lucerne, Switzerland, which was held from July 12 to July 14.
Cowles' boat finished second in the "B" final and ended up in eighth place overall. He and members of the Potomac Boat Club finished second in the men's quad at the national team trials on June 26. They went on to win the national championship two days later at the 2013 USRowing National Championships. Cowles has been a part of three national rowing titles since he graduated from Hamilton.
