Hamilton College's Michael DiMare '14 (Medford, Mass./Avon Old Farms School [Conn.]) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference men's ice hockey player of the week on Feb. 21.
DiMare scored four goals in two road wins last week. He posted two goals, including the game-winner early in the third period, in Friday's 5-4 victory at University of Massachusetts-Boston. He notched the first two goals to stake Hamilton to a 2-0 lead en route to a 3-1 win at Babson College on Saturday.
DiMare is tied for eighth in the conference with 26 points, and tied for fifth with 15 goals. He is tied for fourth with six power-play goals, and leads the NESCAC in freshman scoring.
The Continentals (14-6-4 overall, 11-4-4 NESCAC) clinched the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC championship for the first time in the event's 12-year history. Hamilton hosts No. 8 seed Wesleyan University in a championship quarterfinal on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. The Continentals last hosted a NESCAC postseason event in 2002. Hamilton is 6-0-2 in its last eight games, and has won eight straight on the road.
