
Hamilton College's Jon Franzel '13 posted victories in singles and doubles play in his last home match and the Continentals defeated Union College 7-2 in a non-conference match at Hamilton's Gray Tennis Courts on April 22.
Franzel was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at first flight singles and teamed up with Ian Antonoff '16 for an 8-6 victory at second flight doubles. Franzel is fourth on the team's all-time list with 36 career singles wins and owns the program record with 38 career doubles victories.
James Oliver '15 was another double winner for the Continentals. Oliver boasted a 6-2, 6-4 victory at second flight singles and partnered with Jordan Petit '13 for an easy 8-2 triumph at first flight doubles.
Matt Billet '15 cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at fourth singles and Ben Stern '16 didn't lose a game at fifth singles. Stern leads the team with 13 singles victories. Kolya Kerz '13 breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 win at sixth singles in his last match at Hamilton.
The Continentals (8-9 overall) won for the third time in their last four matches. Union (3-6) dropped its fourth straight match.
Hamilton travels to Connecticut College for a NESCAC match and the Continentals' regular season finale on Saturday, April 27.
