
Hamilton College fell 7-2 to Tufts University in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match at Hamilton’s Gray Tennis Courts on April 11.
Tufts University improved its record to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in NESCAC play, while the Continentals are 5-7, 1-3 in the conference. Drew Libin '12 picked up a victory for Hamilton at second flight singles by scores of 6-2, 7-5. After three singles wins this weekend, Libin improved his record to 14-4.
The team of Jon Franzel ‘13 and Libin earned an 8-5 win at first flight doubles. The duo won three straight matches during the weekend and are 13-5 this season.
Peter Erwin ‘11 played a close match at sixth flight singles. Erwin was edged in his first set 7-6 as he dropped the tie-breaker 7-2 before losing the second set. Greg Kreitzer ‘11 also fought hard in a close match at the fourth spot. He lost 6-1 in the opening set, and was edged 7-5 in a close second.
The Continentals travel to play a non-conference match against Union College on Tuesday, April 13.
