Hamilton College has been recognized by the New Media Consortium (NMC) for its innovative use of technology in support of learning in a liberal arts setting.  The NMC recognized Hamilton's Multimedia Presentation Center (MPC) for its demonstrated commitment to pushing the boundaries of teaching, learning, research or creative expression and adept in the application of technology.

 "Everyone involved with the MPC is excited about being selected and excited about the opportunities that NMC membership can bring to the MPC," said Hamilton College Multimedia Specialist Jesse Thomas.  He continued, "We're looking forward to joining the community of NMC members and collaborating with other institutions that are also exploring multimedia."

The NMC is a non-profit organization that connects colleges, universities, museums and advanced technology companies that are working to define and explore new ways of teaching, learning and creative expression.  In addition to the honor of membership, Hamilton joins 125 institutions to become part of a vibrant community of innovators, working with colleagues across the world to help set the agenda for technology in higher education. Project-focused and action-oriented, the NMC continuously looks for ways to build bridges between innovative people and organizations that are using new technologies to inspire, energize, stimulate or support teaching, learning and creative expression.

The MPC is a state-of-the-art computing facility equipped with cutting-edge hardware and software, as well as a full range of coordinated support services, specifically designed for authoring multimedia-enhanced presentations. Hamilton College continuously strives to enhance learning and make technology resources accessible to faculty and students in the classroom.
