Sandra Harding, professor of education and women's studies at UCLA, presents "Science and Technology Studies in a Postcolonial World: Recent Issues," Tuesday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn.  The lecture is part of The Kirkland Project for the Study of Gender lecture series, "Technology, Science, and Democracy:  What's at Stake?"

Harding is a prominent philosopher of science and is the author and editor of many books.  One of the first to publish a comprehensive and critical survey of feminist science critiques, in The Science Question in Feminism, Harding is a distinguished figure in the philosophy of science.  She has remained at the forefront of the field, working on feminist standpoint theory -- putting women's lives at the center in Whose Science? Whose Knowledge, and more recently addressing the question of Is Science Multicultural?

Sandra Harding's visit is co-sponsored by the departments of women's studies and philosophy and the Faculty for Women's Concerns.  This lecture is free and open to the public.  For more information, please contact the Kirkland Project at 315-859-4288.
