The Hamilton science department held a poster session expo on Friday, October 29 in the Events Barn to help kick off Family Weekend. The poster session allowed students who participated in Hamilton's summer science research program to show off their findings and posters to family, friends, and community members in an interactive forum. Although not all students were able to present, as many juniors who participated in the research program are abroad, the majority of students were there, eager to explain their conclusions.

Hamilton offers many different summer research opportunities to students, on-campus and off-campus. Students who wish to complete research in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and psychology remain on campus work with the guidance of professors in given department; this past summer, summer science researchers were able to use the facilities available in the new Science Center.
As students studied a variety of topics, the poster-presentations were equally as varied; Tim Weaver '05 presented his poster on his summer biology research project, titled "How Genes Might Regulate Behavior." Nii Ato Bensi-Enchill '05, like most student researchers, was very excited to present his poster on psychology research; Bensi-Enchill's project investigates how values influence the development of teenagers by looking at the 10 universal values, and if these factors inhibit or enhance students' potential. More than 50 other students presented their posters as well.
