"The Ninth Annual Men of Color Conference" will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn. The conference will feature a keynote address, "Issues Facing Men of Color in America Today: Are We Making Significant Progress?" by Arthur E. Paris, associate professor of sociology, Syracuse University.

In addition, the participants from New York colleges and universities, will attend workshops by Hamilton professors Philip Klinkner, Michael "Doc" Woods and Mark Cryer.

Conference organizer Aurelius Henderson, who is Hamilton's Program Counselor for the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP,) says the goal of this conference is to further motivate young men of color.

Sponsors of the day-long activities include: Office of the President; Dean of the Faculty; The Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center; Office of Student Activities; Office of Multicultural Affairs; Kirkland Project; Office of the Dean of Students; Departments of History, Sociology, Government and Economics; Black and Latin Student Union; LaVanguardia; Asian Cultural Society; West Indian and African Association; and the International Student Association.
