Hamilton College goalie Sam Walther '18 (Gambrills, Md./The Gunnery [Conn.]) was selected the NESCAC Women's Hockey Player of the Week on March 2.

The player of the week honor is the second this season for Walther as she was previously honored by the conference on Feb. 16.

Walther set team and NESCAC records with 80 saves in a 3-2 loss at nationally ranked No. 3 Middlebury College in quadruple overtime of the NESCAC Championship quarterfinals on Saturday. She made 42 stops in overtime alone. Her save total ranks as the fifth highest in NCAA Division III women's hockey history. Hamilton was the No. 8 seed for the championship while Middlebury is the top seed.

Walther set team records with a 1.76 goals against average and a .937 save percentage this season. She is ranked seventh in the NESCAC in both categories. The Continentals finished the season with an overall record of 10-11-4.
