Hamilton College lost all of its four matches at Swarthmore College's 10th annual Garnet Classic, which was played at Tarble Pavilion on Sept. 14 and 15.

Hamilton (1-7 overall) opened the tournament with a four-set setback against the hosts on Saturday afternoon. The scores were 25-20, 15-25, 25-15 and 25-8. Courtney Somerville '16, who made the all-tournament team, led the Continentals with 12 kills.

Brenna Corrigan '14 chipped in eight kills, three service aces and 13 digs for Hamilton. Jessica Weston '17 hammered eight kills and Sarah Pfund '14 passed out 31 assists. Anna Brown '15 led the defense with 19 digs and Ivanka Temnycky '17 added 15.

Vassar College (5-4) swept the Continentals by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21 on Saturday night. Corrigan posted six kills and 10 digs, and Somerville recorded six kills and five blocks. Pfund contributed 20 assists and 10 digs, and Brown paced the defense again with 12 digs.

Nationally ranked No. 25 Stevenson University (13-0) defeated Hamilton by scores of 25-13, 29-27 and 25-11. Weston smashed seven kills and Pfund handed out 19 assists. Emily Rosen '15 helped lead the defense with 12 digs, Erin Casey '15 stepped up with five blocks and Somerville added four.

Swarthmore (9-3) swept the Continentals in the third-place match by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-14. Corrigan posted a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. Somerville slammed seven kills and Pfund had 20 assists. Brown and Rosen registered 16 and 14 digs, respectively.

Hamilton hosts Colby College for the 2013 NESCAC opener on Friday, Sept. 20.
